Butter

What is it with kids & butter? My two love it, especially my eldest. But not in a melting on crumpets kind of a way, they like it straight from the wrap/tub/dish preferably cold & hard. I've tried it & don't find it at all pleasant. Not the way they like it. When I bake (yes, I bake, & often, but mostly because I have a sweet tooth & love to eat) I have to make sure the butter is well out of reach as it will disappear off the bench sometimes never to return. Same as storing it in the fridge - it's on the highest shelf that cannot even be reached with a 'grown up' chair. It's one of life's little mysteries I suppose. And don't even get me started on the salt - every table I sit down at with my kids I have to move the shaker because sure enough they'll be shaking it out onto their chubby little palms & licking it off with glee. But thankfully never the pepper...

That's funny... I clearly remember my mother smothering Teddy Bear biscuits with butter for me, I used to love it so much.

My fiancee will still eat it in raw form, but I don't quite feel the same about it as I did when I was six... rather gross to think about now actually... Euw.
